We are operators first.
Running an OBGYN practice is different than other businesses.
General operating rules used elsewhere don’t apply to the complexities of modern-day healthcare. At Ivy Hill Health, we understand this firsthand being on the frontlines of care delivery. We have built our businesses from an operator’s lens and are guided by core values of hard work, resourcefulness, and integrity.
The company is led by Marc Olsen, who serves as Chief Executive Officer, and supported by a talented team of specialists and industry-leading advisors. Read their bios below.
Meet Marc Olsen
Much like others, Marc’s first exposure to the good and bad of healthcare came from personal experiences. As a young child, he saw firsthand what an impact caregivers can have on their patients when his mother got breast cancer. He also saw over the next 30 years how hard it can be to navigate our disjointed healthcare system with a father who lived with Type 1 diabetes. It wasn’t though until Marc visited a Kenyan hospital that he understood how critical women are to the livelihood of local communities. Marc jumped into care delivery and co-founded a healthcare nonprofit for women and children. Marc subsequently left his existing job in corporate finance to enter healthcare.
Marc has a long history of operating successful companies in healthcare. Most recently, Marc built and served as President of Georgia’s largest private COVID testing company as ranked by the Georgia Department of Public Health. He led strategic planning, managed profit and losses, built a massive workforce, oversaw site logistics, and formed strategic partnerships with entities like Simon Malls and large school districts. Before that, Marc served as the general manager and top officer of the largest urgent care in Georgia and one of the country’s fastest-growing healthcare companies (No. 845 on 2018 Inc. 5000). He managed 30+ clinics and achieved exceptional financial performance by tripling revenue and significantly increasing EBITDA margins. He helped lead the acquisition and integration of several major competitors, revamped the organizational structure, led numerous employee engagement campaigns, and overhauled patient satisfaction to have some of the industry’s highest patient scores.
He is also proud of his work spent at two major health systems and a startup. As a telemedicine executive prior to the pandemic, Marc pioneered new care delivery models in tele-psychiatry and tele-neurology for major health systems across the country. At WellStar Health System, Marc ran clinic operations in areas like primary care, behavioral health, allergy, rheumatology, and pediatrics. At the country’s largest pediatric system, he was responsible for defining and executing the system’s ambulatory growth plans in areas like urgent care, orthopedics, sports medicine, physical therapy, and ENT. Marc started his career at a premier Southeast financial services firm and left as a Director completing over 200 engagements.
Marc has been frequently published in top industry journals on topics like retail healthcare, quoted in sources like USA Today, and founded a popular healthcare blog for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He has served on a number of nonprofit and trade associations boards over the years. Marc though is most proud of being a father of three energetic and curious children.
